I love musicians!!
If I had to chose one Tribe of people to live amongst, then I would choose the musicians of the world.
I might specify Genovese musicians but generally, I believe musicians to be one of the most inspiring, joy-filled, generous, hilarious, passionate, wicked, kind-hearted groups I’ve experienced.
As a photographer, they are a favourite subject of mine. They forget I am there, as they lose themselves in their music, in their performance … in their passion.
Ivo, Tato, Massi, and Rita (filming me) put up with my first experiments in music videos … there on the terrace of that 15th century palazzo, I lived in in Genova.
Ivo and Luca, performing Ivo’s song, made me fall hard for the music of Late Night
Jack Savoretti shares my love for both Genova, the city, and the oldest Genovese football team, Genoa. He filmed this song, aptly titled ‘Home’, at the Temple (aka Genova’s football stadium), providing me with sweeping glimpses of my beloved city.
I saw him in concert twice, and was official photographer, at an incredibly special World War II commemoration, thanks to my incredibly kind friends - Alessandra and Davide. I ended up meeting his Dad, talking a while, and realising what a truly nice man Jack is.
